Just a little thought..
Results have always been a sensitive issue

in our country,

in my family, especially after my retaining incident and Kou's repeated flunking of results.

"The process is the one that matters, not the final thing."

Yeah right.

And I mean it both literally and sarcastically.

The phrase, "as long as you've done your best" is now obsolete, because, our "best" will never be "best" enough. Sure, one can go on and on about how important the in-betweens are, but after one lovely 'F', it's game over. No more Mr. (and Mrs.) Nice Guy (and Lady).

And then the vicious cycle starts with us slogging through each stage of our education, paper after paper, marathon after marathon; and more often than not, we tend to be "unfortunate" enough to not get what we hoped to grasp in our hands.

But then again, after achieving (or not-achieving) what we fought so hard for, we tend to look back and spend a moment thanking the journey for being so gruelling, and making us the we that we are (or have become) today. Then we realise that we might have made the correct decision to pick the path we so painfully treadled on.

We cannot see the future. Never could, never might. Thus we should just keep advancing in this path we have chosen for ourselves, to see what possible outcome there is in store for us right? No point stopping dead in our tracks in the middle of nowhere and regretting. Since we're halfway through the marathon, let's just finish it. Step by step. Ever heard of "不怕慢,只怕暂。"? We don't have to prove anything to anyone. But we may just wish to prove to ourselves, that we in fact are capable of achieving many many great things, despite those unkind words other people may throw at us. These achievements do not have be "great" in terms of quantity. After all, its significance varies from person to person.

So in the meantime, as Alex so puts it, "FIGHT AR".

Simple words that hold such deep meaning.

Imma fight till the end.

Will you join me?

And oh, before I forget,

remember to smile and learn to enjoy yourself along the way too ya(:
