THE 2009 JAPANESE SUMMER FESTIVAL WAS SIMPLY AMAZING!!Really had one of the best times of my life(: Doumo ne, Imouto-chan!!
Finally had the time to chat with her all the way from Jurong mrt to Tanah Merah interchange and then from TM inter to the bus stop and from the bus stop to the Japanese sch((:
Now that's what I call a proper update of our lives mann! We both have met with our fair share of losers, and pals, but it was awesome that we can still be so close after eons of not meetin' each other. That's what I love abt me sec sch gals - we hardly see each other but the bond remains strong, possibly even get stronger.
This is gonna be chock-full of pics, so yeah(:
The entrance of the Japanese School (just look at the queue! Ok you can't really see it but it was LONGGG.)

The entrance of the festival:

There were so many ladies and men (and toddlers!) donned in pretty yukata. The festival even offered yukata rental too! Imouto and I made a mental note to go early to rent 'em the next time we come or better yet - get our very own yukata~~
The first thing I did was to get a tattoo.. *evil grins* xDD

I love roses. HAHA.
There were 3 sections of stalls we could go to. After walkin' around in 1 section, we headed down to an open space where all the performances were held out, drawn to the thum-thum-thum of the Taiko drums.
This was taken after a Taiko drum performance by lil' kids!

And the Tenko one after that.

The crowd at the open-spaced performin' area.
There was a very interestin' "Yo-Yo Game", very much like the Ningyo (Goldfish) game, in which you've to use a tiny metal hook suspended on this short and super thin rolled-up strip of paper to hook out water balloons (they're tied to long rubberbands with a loop at the end) from the pool. Players are supposed to hold the paper by the top end and slowly lower the hook (at the bottom end) into the water. When your hook descends into the water, the paper becomes very easy to break so it's both fun and a challenge to try to get the balloons you like from the pool. I managed to get 3...by cheatin'! Whoopss but yeah the in-charge allowed(:

That's me tryin' hard to get the 3rd balloon! And that's Imouto's hand holdin' 2 of my and 1 of her balloons. xD
Our wonderful bounce-able "Yo-yos"!

If there's anything we've learnt from the event, it's gettin' whatever you want the min you see it! We tot we should like explore the entire area before we settled on what to get and...when we actually did return for 'em, they were already sold out!
So we settled for steamed buttered corn coz our beloved inari and candy apples were goneeeee!

A few attempts to cam-whore with the corn in our hands!

This was actually one of our best pics from the festival. And tho it was pretty shaky, we tot the blurry effect made the pic better! xD
Wonderful, wonderful green tea flavoured ice-cream(:

HAHA Imouto really looks like she enjoyed every moment of it(:
There were many alcoholic drinks on sale, so we were surprised to see こどもビール which is literally Kids Beer. It's basically just soda but HOW COOL IS THAT MANN?!

One of our less-fail attempts to cam-whore while tryin' to show the cute bottle(:
The coast is clear..! *evil grins*

And she downs the beer..!

And she's drunk!

And omg no you dun wanna know..

More drunken pics, yesss.. xD

Imouto got "drunked" too, yesss.. xDD

The traditional folk dance that marks the end of every Japanese summer festival. Seriously, Imouto, we really should join 'em next year!!!
Everything I bought from the festival: (minus the tattoo, corn and ice-cream)

Too bad there wasn't any ticket stub for us to keep! ):

I LOVE THIS PIC!!
Foolin' around in the empty train! xD

Atashi sugoku kawaii no Imouto da!! (My uber-cute lil' sis!!)

All in all, it was really really enjoyable. Thanks for the invite Imouto~~!
NATSU-MATSURI FTW!!
