The Fourth Toe
Hello.
I'm so bored, I've decided to blog again today. Usually I blog only when I've something really nice to share, or rant out. But now, now I've nothing. Like literally. My mind's a blank. Maybe coz I just woke up. Presentin'...*drumroll* My wonderful toe. Ytd was a...hmm.. I wouldn't say bad day. I mean yeah, I yanked the 4th toe on my left foot against leg of a chair (not the same toe I fractured before, miraculously). Whenever I repeat that to the numerous nurses and/or doctor, they always just gimme The WTF Look. Like okay, I geddit. It's just a chair leg. But the FILLED UP, WOODEN rice bucket was on the friggin' chair mann, it takes like Hercules to friggin' lift the whole darn thing up! And I was friggin' runnin', for that matter. Without mah friggin' specs, mann. Quote The Noose: "Henceforth with therefore", The WTF Look really wasn't necessary. --- Quote 1 Doc at the polyclinic: You said you knocked your toe against the leg of a chair? Me: Yeah. Doc: Are you weak? --- EPICC. Sheesh mann. I followed my cousin's advice on goin' to the polyclinic to get an x-ray, which was alot cheaper than at SGH. And by the time my consultation with the doc came the x-ray clinic was alr closed for the day, and I was told to return the followin' morn, like 8am morn. That's like so epicc-ly earlyyyy. Ppl who know me, will know that 8am is NEVER a QIAO kinda thing. So yeah. Anyways, Mum couldn't wait till 8am coz my toe was turnin' purpleee. And the blue-blackishness was like spreadin' to the top half of my left foot.. So she summoned me to the hospital, and Py accompanied me thank goodness. I told Patty that Imma get my x-ray done "first thing in the morning", and we left our house at like 1+am?! Patty said I really meant what I said. I find that super amusin'. HAHA. The nurses and docs at SGH seem alot nicer than those from the polyclinic mann. Had the x-ray done and wah-la! Amazin'ly, no fractures were spotted on the bone. But the doc didn't rule out hairline fractures, which are undetected on x-rays. Hence the purple bulge. --- Quote 2 Doc at sgh: *giggles* Why do you keep fracturin' your toe?! Me: =_= Err.. I dunno?! --- If my mum wasn't there I might've just lost it and gave her The Finger. __|__ Ohwells. The fact that my toe became so purplish is I believe, due to the excessive walkin' I did while limpin' my ass from one place to another: 1) Limp to bus stop. 2) Take bus. Then limp across the road to the nearest CCK Polyclinic. 3) "CCK Polyclinic closed for renovation: May 2010 - Sep 2010" NAISEE. Limp to bus stop. 4) Take another bus to BBK, limp to BBK polyclinic. 5) Limp to registration counter. 6) Limp to the first room. 7) Given instructions to limp to another room not TOO far away. 8) Seen the doc, told to go to get my med and appt at separate counters. Limp to appt counter. Told to go to the pharmacy to collect my med first. 9) Limp to pharmacy at the far end. At the pharmacy, the collection and payment booths are located at opposite ends of the room. =_= 10) Limp back to the appt counter. Told that I could've just done the appt at the pharmacy payment counter. =_= 11) Limp to the washrm all the way at the extreme end of the clinic. 12) Told that the cleanin' lady's washin' the toilet, had to limp all the way back to the other extreme end (where the pharmacy is) to use the washrm there. 13) Limp all the way to West Mall, lvl 4 Koufu to get dinner. 14) Limp to bus stop. 15) Take bus home, then limp home. And there you go. Purple, buldgin' toe. Naise. (N) I guess I can sum up the day as being not totally "bad" coz Im more than relieved for several reasons: - Awards Night is alr over THANK GOODNESS - my ex-tuition-mate forfeited on the free ticks to Fried Rice Paradise, so I dun have to worry abt bailin' out last min - it's the hols now, no need to worry abt skippin' lessons - CCA's put on hold for this hols - there's no make-up sch lessons this wk - my toe isn't fractured like the last time - my new house is single-storeyed, so no more nightmares climbin' up the stairs - my front door is also very near the lift, unlike my old house, where I've to walk to the extreme end to reach my doorstep I've my friends and my mum to thank. Ppl who really show concern with the calls and the msgs, and who literally walked every step of the way with me. You know who you are. XANK YOU(: Quote Of The Day, baby: Nurse: Okay this is how you do the buddy splint. Me: Oh okay. Nurse: How old are you again? Me: 19. Nurse: How did your toe end up like that? Did someone step on your toe? Me: Erm.. I kinda knocked it against a VERY HEAVY chair, but like everytime I say this, ppl just give me The Look. Nurse: Yeah I know.. These things happen. Sh*t happens, darling. I like this nurse. (Y) |
