The 2 Legendary Objects Under My Pillow
Alexander the Great always slept with 2 objects under his pillow: a dagger and the copy of the Iliad (an ancient epic poem). These 2 objects possessed practical usefulness to him, and he claimed that they gave definition to his personality (as a soldier and a scholar).

Like Alexander, I'm sure that everyone has 2 objects that defines us and would be something that we would like to be remembered by. If I were to put 2 objects under my pillow, they would be my wooden necklace and my sneakers keychain (I dun actually have that keychain).

My wooden necklace is a long chain that I frequently use to pair up with many of my clothes. It's dark brown, which makes it easy to match most tops. There is a bird pasted in front of the pendant, and a tree which used to be attached to the back of the pendant. I would like to think that the bird in front is a dove, the universal symbol of peace. I'm all for peace thruout the world - like, who doesn't want world peace anyway, aye?

The wooden nature of the pendant, as well as the (lost) tree represents my love for Mother Nature, and all things great. I've always loved trees, I'm not quite sure why. Trees fascinate me much more than small plants. It still amazes that a tiny seed can grow into a huge tree. I especially like thinkin' that trees are like our quiet companions that grow with us, and never grow out of us, in a sense. When we were kids, we might have enjoyed doin' tree-climbin' activities, or even just dreamin' up a treehouse, like those we always saw in stories and TV shows. As we grow older, we would always wanna be in the shelter of the tree. They offer a sense of comfort just being there, quietly. Trees dun quite abandon us, we abandon 'em, as we lose ourselves to the 'wonders' of the concrete and technological jungle.

The sneakers keychain represents my love for sneakers because I can't possibly put my real pair of sneakers under my pillow right? If the unevenness of the shoes dun get to me, then the smell will. HAHA.

Sneakers are prolly one of the most versatile footwear around - you can wear 'em with almost anything, be it shorts, jeans, skirts or even dresses. And they're certainly oh-so-comfy indeed. My sneakers have walked me thru - literally - my toughest growin' years, and brought me to shelter thru the worst storms (and mud). They never cut my feet like countless of shoes have, and they always keep my feet (my toes in particular) away from external harm. Plus, your most favourite shoes will never dump you, unlike some ungrateful men out there.

Legend has it that Alexander the Great had 2 objects under his pillow: his dagger and the book The Iliad. Legend will have it that Qiaoster has her wooden chain and (would-be) sneakers keychain under her pillow, because she's a nature-lovin' and comfort-seekin' person.

What 2 'legendary' objects would you wanna keep under your pillow?
